The Environment

We understand the importance of adopting a responsible and caring attitude towards our environment, which is why our business is working towards the Green Tourism Business Scheme.

In order to achieve this we have adopted the following practices as an integral part of the services we offer. These practices allow us to lessen any negative impact our business may have on the environment.

• Recycling: In order to reduce waste we recycle as much glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, cans and kitchen waste as possible through adoption of a local Recycling Pilot Project initiated by Green Tourism.
• Energy Consumption: We integrate Energy A Rated appliances and fit as many standard lamps and other lights with low-energy light bulbs where possible.
• Suppliers: We work to develop relationships with suppliers who demonstrate sound environmental practice in production of their goods and services.
• Local Sourcing: We source as many of our products and services from local suppliers with whom we work to develop long-term relationships.
• Pollution: We use chemical-free products wherever possible.

We understand the important role that business must play in protecting our environment. We also acknowledge that the nature of our services has an impact on the quality of that environment. That is why our business is working towards membership of the Green Tourism Business Scheme. This scheme exists to help businesses across Scotland within the Tourism industry to adopt best practice in environmental management.

We aim to protect the environment by a process of continual improvement through our performance in relation to:

• Waste reduction including the handling, storage, disposal of and minimisation of all waste including recycling and composting facilities
  
• Building long-term relationships with all our suppliers to encourage and benefit from best practice in environmental awareness
  
• Reducing environmental risk where possible associated with our business
  
• Minimising energy waste with respect to water and fuel whenever possible

In order to achieve these goals we will:

• Continue to explore objectives to support our environmental policy
  
• Work hard to reduce all waste
  
• Meet and where possible exceed any legislative requirements where appropriate to our business

All policies will be implemented in line with the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
